Synopsis

With participation and artistic creativity of the highest quality as features of the event, “Music Weeks in TOKYO” aspires to bring new energy to the music, art and culture of TOKYO, and spread energy for the arts throughout Japan and the world. The key theme of this music festival is “voice.”
The festival features the superb professional choral group, Super Chorus TOKYO, consisting of members selected through auditions, and related projects. Chorus master and director, Mr. Roberto Gabbiani, is invited to participate in the choral group’s training and performance. Mr. Gabbiani, an authority in choral music, has filled various posts including that of chorus master of Teatro Comunale di Firenze and principal chorus master of Milan La Scala Chorus, working with world-renowned conductors like Riccardo Muti, Georges Pretre, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, and Carlos Kleiber.

Audition for Super Chorus TOKYO
We are now recruiting members for Super Chorus TOKYO, a first-class professional choral group, which will appear in Music Weeks in TOKYO, a music festival project that presents the culture of Tokyo to the world. Super Chorus TOKYO will provide a total of 4 performances in 2010 (a debut event in September and 3 performances of “Messa da Requiem” by Giuseppe Verdi in October) under the direction of Mr. Roberto Gabbiani, maestro of choral music.
